Stories are Basically for your own character, informing the rest of the forum about his/her life. Why is it here instead of the Character template? You should not ask that question because I don't know why. But without a Story your character will have to settle with a Base Level Rank upon acceptance of your character within their organization or Race. A story determines if your character had any experiences that would imply he or she or it is incredibly strong and/or has a position within a certain organization. With a Story your character will have a wide range of Rank's available to him.
**Race leaders and Sub-leaders within their organization determine who serves under them and who gets what position; whether or not you obtain a place among their ranks is left to their discretion and is not by default limited to one type of person. (Rank, Race, Gender, etc.). So a Bount can be a Shinigami Captain if the Captain Commander allows it, Even if it is Base Level ranked.
